Karate
“It’s not about being better than someone else, it’s about being better than you were the day before.”
The
Karate
program
consists
of
formal
training
in
the
Okinawan
and
Japanese
art
of
Shudokan
Karate-do,
Doshinkan
Karate-do,
Kobudo,
Aikido,
Jujitsu
and
Judo.
The
techniques
taught
are
not
used
for
tournament
or
competition
fighting.
We
teach
real
world
applications
to
help
give
you
the
edge
in
defending
yourself
or loved ones.
Classes
consist
of
traditional
kata,
kobudo
(weapons),
and
self
defense
training.
You
will
be
immersed
in
learning
the
kata
(forms
or
prearranged
patterns)
and
bunkai
(the
application
of
the
kata)
for
both
empty
hand
and
weapons,
as
well
as
learning
the
secrets
that
are
hidden
within
the
kata
for
self
defense
Don't
be
fooled
by
the
new
craze
of
mixed
martial
arts.
What
applies
in
the
ring
does
not
apply
on
the
street.
There
are
no
rules
when
you
are
being
attacked
by
an
assailant.
On
the
street
there
are
no
referees
to
stop
the
fight
or
to
say
that's
an
illegal
technique
you
can't
do
that.
You
must
know
how
to
defend
yourself
quickly
by
immobilizing
the
assailant
and escaping.
Japan Shudokan Budo-Kai
Our
focus
is
to
pass
on
the
teachings
and
understanding
of
the
ancient
art
of
Bushido
"the
way
of
the
warrior",
which
has
been
passed
down
to
us
by
Kanken
Toyama
through
his
students.
At
King
School
of
Karate
we
have
dedicated
years
of
training
into
the
understanding
and
practice
of
empty
hand
&
weapons
kata, and kumite (fighting).
